In the words of Charles Dickens, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times" is a great description for this past month. January was mostly devoted to Kyle's midtour leave and to say we had a fabulous time having him own is an understatement. From simply hanging around the house, to a romantic night away at a B&B, to a family trip up the mountains in Estes Park it was a GREAT time. Sadly we said goodbye to him last week, but found strength in knowing this would be our last awful goodbye like this. Kyle is now back in Afghanistan and will be wrapping things up in his current unit and gearing up to head out and take his platoon leader position with the new battalion late this month. Would recommend not sending him anything until we get a new address for him. I'll send it out as soon as I get one.
The kids are both doing great. Greyson will be turning 3 in a matter of days and is so excited for my mom and Mike to come visit and to join us for his birthday party at a local gymnastic/trampoline place. Peyton is almost 8 months and is becoming less and less of a baby each day. She's sitting up well on her own, but still loses balance from time to time. She's eating 3 stage 2 baby foods a day and is a great eater. She loves to spend time in her exersaucer bouncing around and she is a genuinely happy baby who lights up a room with her smile.
Again, I'll let the pictures (January 2011 link on the left) and videos do the talking.....
